On Thursday the 10th of November 25 engineers from the South West attended InterEngineering’s Gender Diveristy Seminar generously hosted by Buro Happold in their stunning bath offices.

The engineers learnt about the gender spectrum with help from Pips Bunce from Credit Suisse. Using the Mx Gender. Bread person the audience learnt about the differences between gender identity, gender expression, biological sex and sexual orientation. Followed by a video of Pip Bunce’s journey at Credit Suisse, the story of Pips becoming their true self in the work place.

Then the amazing Silvia Boschetto Presented her career story, ‘Challenges and Opportunities’. Highlighting some of the challenges and opportunities she faced with being a female engineer in heavily male dominated fields. We also heard about Silvia’s other challenges such as moving from overseas and facing tough economic times and how she climbed to the challenge over came these.

The night concluded with a series of tough questions for the presenters, followed by some networking and great finger food.
