On Thursday 22nd June 2017, we teamed up again with OffSite and KPMG to host the second annual InterQuiz. KPMG hosted the event in the delightful Winter Garden reception with stunning views across Canary Wharf. Our charity partner for 2017 was ELOP, a holistic lesbian and gay centre that offers a range of social, emotional and support services to LGBT communities. Core services include counselling and young people’s services.
A fun night was had by all, with 80 attendees from multiple networks including:
- InterEngineering
- OffSite
- Freehold
- IHS Markit
- Interbank
- Mastercard
- Planning Out
- Santander
- Professional Networks
- General
All monies raised from ticket sales, raffle ticket sales and auction opportunities on the night went to ELOP, amounting to nice sum of just over £1,700. When asked what this would help them achieve, ELOP indicated
“£1,700 enables us to run our family support group for the year, supporting over 60 families, ensuring LGBT parents have a network with other LGBT families and provides for children an opportunity to meet other families that are similar in make up to their own.
£1,700 also helps us provide 38 initial appointments for our counselling service, enabling 38 people to receive the support at the time that they need it and start the process of accessing support.”
This event illustrates the strength in the LGBT community coming together to raise much needed funds for services which are vital for our community which face increasing underfunding. We look forward to continuing our collaborations to raise funds for charities.
If you would like to partner with us on a fundraising event, then please contact us at team@interengineeringlgbt.com outlining your request and we will consider this in-line with our wider events planning.
